Black on Black.

By

I’ve been seeing a lot of posts, and comments, about black on black killings. I’ve seen posts saying, black people been killing black people and I don’t see nobody protesting about that. Or, all lives matter as long as blacks keep killing blacks. I briefly mentioned this in another post, but let’s dig in this just a little bit shall we.

First thing first, black on black killings. A topic black people, and the rest of society, knows all too well. It’s a constant reminder in our communities, on social media and on the local news. Especially in our hoods, ghettos, projects; whichever term you prefer. It’s unfortunate. My people, we really do need to stop killing each other. Especially, ESPECIALLY, over small, stupid, silly, prideful, ego-tripping stuff. But, just because it seems to be a constant, doesn’t mean it’s being ignored. It doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t protest about it. Hell, I agree that the matter needs to be fully addressed and it needs to end. Let’s start the protest.

Now, on the flip side, America is currently protesting the latest incident of a white cop killing an unarmed black man. There has been other televised incidents of a white person killing an unarmed innocent black person. And, I don’t know if you know, but there’s probably as many white on black killings as there is black on black. Majority of which is not televised, as much as with the black on black. I agree with protesting white on black killings as well. Let’s protest.

But, here’s what I think a lot of people are missing. People are thinking, a killing is a killing regardless of color. And, that is very true. BUT, when a black person kills another black person, WITHOUT any video as proof, that black person more than likely gets caught/arrested, charged, convicted and sentenced on sight. And, that’s probably, I’ll give it, 99.9% of the time. I may be exaggerating, but that’s how I feel about it. On the other hand, when a white person kills an unarmed black person, WITH video as proof, it may take a couple of days before they’re arrested. A few more days before they are charged. Fingers crossed if they get convicted. Prayers up if they get sentenced. And, we may have to sacrifice something to see if they get the same sentencing as a black person.

See, people are not protesting because it’s just a killing. People are protesting because if the roles were reversed, there wouldn’t be any hesitation to the arrest, charge, conviction and sentencing of that black person. A lets be honest, the roles don’t even have to be reversed, it can still be black on black. The protests are more so about social injustice and inequality, not just the killings. History, on video, has proven time and time again, that when a white person kills innocent people, not just blacks, they are treated with more respect and care. And, the “justice” system takes its precision time with convicting and sentencing them. If the “justice” system is fair, and ALL Americans are equal, then let it be just that, fair and equal. A black man killing another black man shouldn’t get life in prison, whereas a white man killing a black man gets 10 years. Let it alone being a police officer.

So, let’s just stop the unnecessary killings period. And whenever a killing does happen, black/black, white/black or whatever, let the charges, convictions and sentencing be the same across the board. That’s my opinion. Oh, and let me just leave you with this that I had found….. “We are confident that Aaron will ultimately be cleared of any criminal responsibility for his actions.” (https://www.policedefense.org/cases/2020/22/1/aaron-dean-fort-worth-police-department) This is in regards to former Ft. Worth police officer, Aaron Dean, in the shooting death of an innocent black woman, Atatiana Jefferson.

I agree. People don’t understand that white privilege is real. The people that are saying all lives matter are trash. If you don’t see the injustice that black people go thru then they just don’t care simple as that.

Agreed. Unfortunately, most people can’t see the bigger picture of the matter. Or, they just choose to not want to see.
